Pride parades are full of color, music, and self-expression. WAnd whether you live in a big city or a small country town, there is probably one happening near you!

Twenty nineteen marks This year is the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York City, which helped launch the gay rights movement, including the first Pride march. This year, New York City’s Pride Festival is set to be the largest of all time, with millions marching to commemorate Stonewall.

Sydney has been named one of the most gay-friendly cities in the world and Sydney Pride, also called Mardi Gras, starts in February.

Taipei’s Pride Parade happens in October and draws people from all over the world. This year Taipei marchers celebrate a groundbreaking victory: Taiwan has become the first place in Asia to legalize gay marriage.

Every August in Amsterdam, decorated boats and barges create a floating Pride Parade. Onlookers and supporters line the canal walls to watch the parade.

The Pride Parade in Mumbai, also called Queer Azaadi, is celebrated every February. Twenty nineteen’s2019’s parade was the first since the city decriminalized Section 377 -- a 154-year-old law banning homosexual activity in India -- in a giant stride towards equality.

No matter who we are, where we live, or where we travel, Pride events are a chance to celebrate diversity, equality, our loved ones, and our true vibrant colors.
